A Rancho Cucamonga web company is hoping to bridge the gap between non-profit organizations and the professional web design services and social media outreach they need – free of charge.
I.E. Web Solutions is seeking at least two charities in the Inland Empire to design their websites and manage their social media and interactive marketing campaigns in 2011 for six months.
I.E. Web Solutions is a web development company owned and operated by Corey Washington, a former Online Producer for Los Angeles Newspaper Group who has worked for the San Bernardino Sun Newspaper and the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin. Washington also currently manages blackvoicenews.com and calblackmedia.com.
Washington says he is highly interested in helping non-profit organizations focused on different areas of at-risk prevention, health awareness, and low-income support.
“Right now there are probably some non-profits out there with meager budgets and are forced to choose what expenditures they can afford, which is unfortunate. They may not be able to afford hiring a web agency even though it’s critical that their online initiative be done correctly to service as many beneficiaries as possible, bring awareness to their cause and attract new stakeholders,” Washington said.
Washington believes the right approach is necessary to boost any business’ success online, especially some nonprofit organizations that may have to juggle many tasks with few resources.
“We‘re living in the Information Age. Digital media has to encompass more than just a website to ensure your messages are broadcast and that people are attracted to your cause. There needs to be a full-fledged approach using different technologies that not only complement, but also support your outreach efforts,” he said.
For now, Washington is only seeking two non-profit organizations that he will collaborate with in developing their websites.
He will also implement their social media and interactive marketing and manage them for six months, then cross-train the organizations to oversee the remainder of their campaigns.
“Some people might view this as a noble, yet insane idea for a person to dedicate so much time for free when simultaneously you have a business to run, but it’s something I feel I need to do,” he said. “I always felt God wanted me to help others in some capacity and here I am blessed enough to be able to do that. Now, I just want to pay it forward.”
Washington is hoping to repeat his endeavor in the second half of 2011.
