Next November, there will be scores of local non-partisan elected offices on the ballot throughout San Bernardino County. Sixty-four city council members and mayors will be elected. School board and community college board seats will add another 110 offices to the ballot. In addition, there will be 65 special district seats available on such bodies as water districts, fire prevention districts, hospital districts, and community service districts. There’s never been a better time to get involved and improve your local community!

The San Bernardino County Democratic Party is offering a free workshop to any Democrat who is thinking about running for local office in November.

The workshop will be held at the Democratic Headquarters, 136 Carousel Mall, San Bernardino 92401, on Sunday, June 20, from 12 noon to 3:00 p.m. Please register in advance by calling the Democratic Headquarters, 909 889-9255, no later than Thursday, June 17.

Please leave a message with your name, a number where you can be reached, and the local non-partisan office in which you are interested, and we will return your call.

The June 20 workshop will cover the basics of filing to get your name on the ballot, and how to begin building your campaign organization. Participants will also receive information about additional campaign resources.

San Bernardino County has for far too long tolerated a “culture of corruption” in county and local government. New elected officials are part of the cure! Please consider attending this workshop and running for local office. Together, we can help to clean up San Bernardino County.
