The Mayor and City Council would like to invite the community to participate in the Fontana Community Senior Center’s Flu Shot Clinic. In collaboration with San Bernardino County’s Department of Public Health, the Fontana Community Senior Center will be offering flu shots to community members of all ages on Friday October 26, 2012 from 10am – 12pm.

The CDC (Center for Disease Control) recommends that people get their seasonal flu vaccine as soon as the vaccine becomes available in their area.

These groups include: pregnant women, children younger than 5 (especially children under 2 years old), people 50 years of age and older, people of any age with certain chronic medical conditions, and people who live and/or work in nursing homes or other long-term care facilities.

The Fontana Community Senior Center is excited to be partnering with the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health.

“Because we operate a Senior Center, we know how important it is for everyone to receive their vaccination every year,” says Community Services Coordinator Tiffany Starks. “We are happy that the County of San Bernardino Department of Public Health has chosen our wonderful facility to provide the community with such a necessary program.”

So clear your calendars for Friday October 26, 2012 from 10am – 12pm. The Fontana Community Senior Center is located at 16710 Ceres Avenue, Fontana, CA 92335. All vaccinations will be provided on a first come, first serve basis and will cost $10 per person. All ages (older than 6 months) are welcome and encouraged to attend.
