The City of San Bernardino will be hosting a "Beautification Day" on Saturday, April 24, 2010. There will be several dumpsters conveniently placed throughout seven locations in the city from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This special event is for household refuse so all electronic equipment and even tires will be accepted.

Absolutely no glass items, wood items, light bulbs, lead acid batteries or excessive green waste will be accepted. Tree limbs must be cut down to 5 feet. It will be necessary to show proof of residency with driver's license and a gas, electric or water bill.

The first location will be Wildwood Park on 40th Street and Waterman. A second location is the Anne Shirrell Park that is North of Baseline on California Street. Lytle Creek Park will also be an option at 380 S. K Street.

The Mill Community Center, at 503 E. Central Street, will be participating as well. The Ruben Campos Center on 1717 W. 5th Street and the Western Regional Little League will also be accepting refuse. Final location for this effort will be in the Smart and Final parking lot at Arrowhead and Baseline Street.

This event is being sponsored by Mayor Pat Morris, City Manager Charles McNeely, City Council, the Refuse Department, and the San Bernardino Cluster Association and Neighborhood Watch. "Neighborhood cleanup days are a great opportunity and an easy way for our community to show pride in the way San Bernardino looks," said Mayor Patrick Morris.
