RIVERSIDE -- Just Harmony Nursing Services, Inc. has created a Career Development program that will assist ex-felons to achieve a sense of accomplishment and purpose for a better life. This program which is open to all ex-felons focuses on individual career counseling, life management services, referrals to support services, and job search assistance. The program provides all the tools necessary for individuals to become a productive citizen in society and economically independent.
“We know that these individuals face more discrimination and are stigmatized, as they try to make new lives for themselves,” states founder Gwendolyn Paul.
Their goal is to assist individuals in quality training in the Health Care Industry with a view towards certification and job placement.
Statistics indicate that education is one of the most important forms of rehabilitation and when offenders are provided an education, they gain higher self-esteem and recidivism rates drop dramatically. This focus will have a high impact on the individuals as well as society. In fact, the higher the level of education an offender receives, the less likely he or she is to return to prison.
For instance, studies indicate that approximately 60 to 75 percent of offenders who receive higher education experience a higher rate of employment than those who do not participate in education programs.
Traditional employment such as construction, manufacturing, agriculture, government, and services are not expected to recover to their pre-recessions levels. Healthcare, on the other hand is expected to grow exponentially.
Healthcare and education are the two fields that will dominate job growth in the United States. As healthcare continues to improve, more healthcare workers will be needed in every field. In addition the new Healthcare Bill will shore up financial support for all individuals to benefit for the medical services that was once reserved only for the top echelons of our society. It is imperative that more schools open with useful programs and job placement assistance.
Just Harmony Nursing Services, Inc. offers short term programs in healthcare while assisting with job placement.
