The most magical time of year and one of the busiest shopping seasons is upon us. Each year, RDP encourages downtown businesses to make the season festive and bright by hosting a window decorating contest. Participating downtown businesses vie for the title of ‘Best Decorated Window’ in this friendly competition.
RDP upped the ante last year by partnering with InstantRiverside.com, giving the contest a little more competitive edge.
InstantRiverside.com is proud to present a holiday documentary which will be broadcast on KVCR-TV, the PBS affiliate serving the Inland Empire. The program "InstantRiverside.com: The holiday season in downtown Riverside."
"We will feature nine businesses that are competing in the downtown window decorating contest," said managing editor Craig Fiegener.
"This is our second year partnering with the Riverside Downtown Partnership, and on InstantRiverside.com, people can watch videos on the windows, and cast votes for their favorites online," says Fiegener.
The online votes are combined with scores from judges who have seen the windows in person. The winner will be announced at the Festival of Lights Switch-On Ceremony on Friday November 26.
The show will be broadcast on Monday, November 22, at 7:30 p.m.; with an encore broadcast on November 24, at 10:00 p.m. KVCR-TV is broadcast over-the-air on digital channel 24.1; the station is also seen on all cable systems, and Dish Network and DirectTV on channel 24.
