SAN BERNARDINO

The works of regional African American photographers will be featured at Assembly Member Wilmer Amina Carter's 2010 Black History Month program. The free event is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18 at the San Bernardino County Government Center, 385 N. Arrowhead Avenue.

Featured photographers, who will illuminate the region's black history through an artist's eye, include Van Howard, Cheryl Brown, Lafonzo Carter, John Coleman, Eliz Coleman Dowdy, Richard Gardenhire, Walter Hawkins, Sam James, Henry Hooks and Harry Carson and Richard Cole, both in memoriam. The San Bernardino County Association of African American Employees is hosting its 17th Annual Black History Celebration event on Thursday, Feb. 25th at the Department of Behavioral Health Center Auditorium, 850 East Foothill Blvd, Rialto. Program begins at 6PM.

Ticket cost is $12.00.

There also will be a Cultural Fair on Feb. 18th at the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center at 400 North Pepper Avenue, Colton, from 8AM to 5PM.

RIVERSIDE

The Black History Parade Committee of Riverside presents the 31st Annual Expo & 1st Annual Car Show, February 13 at 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Downtown Riverside, City Hall Plaza.

The expo is hosting food, clothing vendors, and informational booths. The variety stage will be hosting local talent, dancers, miome’s, instrumental artist and the Competition stage hosts drill teams, drum lines, step teams, dance teams, cheer squads and marching units.
