The Missing Osama bin Laden

The missing Osama bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, and “weapons of mass destruction” in the Middle East brings to mind one of the songs I learned when I was in elementary school back in Jones County, North Carolina.

As I remember it, the song went:

Where, oh where, oh where is Susan?
Where, oh where, oh where is Susan?
Where, oh where, oh where is Susan?
Way down yonder in the pom-pom patch.

You could be creative and add other verses as the song progressed such as, “come on let’s go find her,” before the last stanza:

Picking up pom-poms put-em in da basket.
Picking up pom-poms put-em in da basket.
Picking up pom-poms put-em in da basket.
Way down yonder in the pom-pom patch.

So now I ask this administration…
Where, oh where, oh where is Osama?
Where, oh where, oh where is Saddam?
Where, oh where, oh where are the WEAPONS?

We have bombed Afghanistan and Iraq, yet we have not found any of the people or things we told the public we were going after. The world is watching and waiting with baited breath to see evidence of the claims we warned them of. I want us to locate the weapons even if we don’t locate the people.

If we can’t find the weapons let’s at least locate the instruction book that the weapons were made from. It appears at this time as though the only thing we have to go on is that we embellished the CIA information so we could go to war.

It has been alluded to by some that the current “Road Map to Peace” would not have been possible if we had not bombed Iraq. Now that plan has been placed on hold because of detours not planned for. We forgot that part of the world plays by a different set of rules such as an “eye for and eye” and not turn the other cheek.

Since we have not found the “weapons of mass destruction,” the Congress, the imbedded media and the rest of the world is singing the song:

Where, oh where, oh where are the weapons?
Where, oh where, oh where are the weapons?
Where, oh where, oh where are the weapons?
Way down yonder in the CIA.

Bush is saying:

Come on boys let’s go find em.
Come on boys let’s go find em.
Come on boys let’s go find em, way down yonder in the Iraqi desert.
Picking up weapons, put-em in the desert.
Picking up weapons, put-em in the desert.
Picking up weapons, put-em in the desert.
Way down yonder in Iraqi land.

By the way we never found Susan either.
