In the eyes of the law, if a man and woman are married any children born during that marriage is legally the husband’s unless proven otherwise. It is a hardship on any child to discover after years of calling a certain man “Dad” that he/she doesn’t know who their real father is. Also, it is wise for health reasons for people to know their heritage. Fast forward to the modern day DNA tests, and The Maury Povich Show, which sensationalizes numerous women, many with adulterous and cheating tendencies, who sometimes correctly, falsely and/or mistakenly claim certain men to be the biological father of their child. More often than not the DNA Test proves the child is not the biological child of the accused man.  It is not uncommon for some of these women to return to the show several times with a different potential father each time only to be further demoralized through the DNA test. Therefore, society in general and men in particular are more harshly biased against adulterous women.

Besides Illegitimate Births There are Other Issues

Unfortunately, but true, men are possessive. For better or worse, men far too often see their wives and lovers as their personal property. When a woman commits adultery and/or cheats on the men with whom she had previously formed a serious intimate bond, the discovery can become explosive.    History attests to the fact that the ego of men often leads to assault and battery, stalking, and occasionally homicide. When a woman decides to commit adultery/cheat she is playing with wildfire, which on many occasions has set ablaze the life of her fool-hearted fling, and/or unaware partner to her liaison.  According to the National Organization for Women, in 2005, 1,181 women were murdered by their husbands or boyfriends in this country. On average, more than three women are murdered by their husbands or boyfriends every day. Although the statistics doesn’t record the cause of the homicide; however, I would make a conservative guess that at least 50% of these deaths were caused by adultery, cheating and/or jealousy of the husband/boyfriend. Also in many of these murders, I can only imagine how many secret male lovers are also murdered by these angry husbands and boyfriends.

When unfaithful husbands are caught ‘sagging’ or in other words with their pants down, seldom does his infidelity escalates to homicide. Women usually take the “Waiting To Exhale” remedy and burn his clothes, destroy his car, hurt him financially, and/or put his ‘busted’ romp out. Compare what happen to OJ Simpson’s wife Nicole Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman as compared to what happened in the infidelity of Tiger Woods and his many mistresses. Therefore, it seems to me, when women commits adultery the stakes are much, much higher as compared to adulterous men. And to farther understand to position of society against adulterous women, as stated in part 1 of this article, the state of Minnesota specifically defines adultery as the wife having sex outside her marriage.
