Imagination in Ancient African Spirituality was partnered with Intuition to serve as a mind programming tool to guide the subconscious intellect and emotions responsible for ones behaviors (Kamitic "tchet," for 'word' and 'deed') into functioning within the confines of the Spiritual Elements. Because much of ones behaviors are not under conscious control--including those formed into habits before being converted into ones subawareness--such programming was helpful in medicine, hypnotherapy, meditation, and the like. Ancient African Sages knew Imagination to be a congregative faculty derived from the mind, possessing the capacity to produce/reproduce several symbolic functions out of Images (vessels containing messages in Symbols), ideas, sequences of words, sentences, emotions, and feelings just as they occur. They knew Imagination as the gateway to forces of Nature. They knew Sound Waves underlie (create, enhance, maintain, destroy) the structure of all things and events in the Cosmos (Amen Metu Neter I:80). They knew Art (music and drama being the two most powerful) is the science of manipulating behavior through the Imagination. For example, the energies causing humans to be motivated (that prove motor power--e-motions, passions) to act in the world are called on and organized by the Images manipulated via the faculty of Imagination. Emotions are solicited, not by the situations in which one finds oneself or by things one interacts with, but by the Images one associates with them (Amen, Tree of Life p186-8). For example, ones "Persona Image" determines what one thinks, feels, says, does, expects, and ones perceived degrees of capability--a perception more often distorted/fantasized than realistic. To think: "I can't" is to ensure "I will not." Shame from weakness causes one to euphemistically say to others: "I'm too busy." Thus, to gain insight into ones psyche ("Egyptian for Soul) requires examining repeatedly dwelled upon Beliefs and emotionally charged mental Images (Kamitic word "tut," for "to beget").
Order is the existence of independent things acting interdependently to generate a "Oneness" of purpose or a work product. Imaginations' coordination of subtle physical forces builds an ordered whole so as to pave the way to make a goal a reality. To Imagine something is to "order" a wide range of mental processes—e.g. Sense perceptions, Thoughts, Memories--into Percepts (embryonic mental images); then Notions (the earliest stages of a developing idea consisting of vague and partially formed images); then Ideas--patterned quantities of energy organized into shaped forces so as to complete the Image. After bringing that Image to ones own mental committee, its fate is determined. If there is a pertinent situational usage, the Image's Sound Wave is activated. The rate of the Wave's vibration determines its nature (Spiritual Elements vibrate so fast as to appear still) and the shape of the Image determines its power. Maybe its use will be for reasoning; maybe for impulsiveness. Spiritual work is carried out through reflecting on Images of Spiritual Elements.
Anything short of first realigning ones Beliefs with Truth results in using ones Imaginative Faculty creative powers to fashion Information, illusions, delusions, or, if one is Brute oriented, into Indifference-Hate-Evil-Sadistic complex products. What is chosen and ones success depend upon which of these one believes to be Real. In arriving at some work product, whether one is on the "Truth-Track" or just a shade off or "far off," Critical Thinking and Creativity institute a “check and balance” between Intellect and Productive Imagination. Impulsive people demonstrate how a lack of discipline is not a path to freedom but rather an explosion onto a chaotic path. Self-Cultivation being ruled by emotions increasingly urges wild day-dreaming leading to excitement seeking and behaviors that spiral into vicious cycles. Their continual pursuit of excesses and "Escapes" in Material realms means they are slaves to their Imaginations which have now taken on a life of their own. By ignoring what and who is of benefit to them and being unable to recognize what is really important, keeps one inside the status quo and living an unhappy life. In their anti-Spiritual Elements Imagination products, Brutes range from Impulsivity to highly disciplined. But they feature deliberately fashioned Images that generate Fear and Scarcity to use as justifications for their greedy pursuits and to enlarge their "misery loves company" base--a sign of Philosophical Disarray Illness.
