Now you may not feel motivated, you may not feel like you have a reason for living, but you must renew your mind with the immovable fact that you are apart of a commissioned people -- you have a reason to be alive. There is an eternal purpose. There is a great river of God’s purpose that is moving toward an eternal home with Him. You can’t stop God’s purpose, God’s purpose is greater than you are, and if you are God’s child, nothing is going to slow down God’s purpose for your life.

Remember we must support our city in order for it to grow to be a healthy place for our families.

I read in the paper of the life of Mr. Jesus Cardenas. Mr. Cardenas was the founder of Cardenas Markets and he died March 5, 2013. He came to the United States when he was 18-years-old in the mid-1950s under the now defunct federal program that allowed permanent work visas for Mexican immigrant laborers. He worked for years at numerous Inland Empire locations, but to make a long story short, this is what happened to Mr. Cardenas and his family. He traded some tools for a pregnant pig and from that started a hog farm. His wife ran the farm while he worked hard on other farms in the area. In 1981, the family opened the first Cardenas Market in Ontario, Ca. The company is still based out of Ontario, Ca. Mr. Cardenas left a legacy for his wife and four children.

Even though we have to watch what we eat so that we can live healthy it is not all bad if we just change things a little. Here is a dish that I enjoyed.

(MUSTARD, GARLIC AND ROSTED TURKEY BREAST). (1/4) cup spicy brown mustard (1/4) cup chopped fresh parsley (2) tablespoons chopped fresh thyme or (2) teaspoons dried thyme (2) tablespoons chopped fresh sage or (2) teaspoons of dried sage (2) cloves garlic, minced (1/2) teaspoon black pepper (1/4) teaspoon salt (1) bone-in whole turkey breast (6 to 7 pounds) (1) preheat oven to 450 f. Combine mustard, parsley, thyme, sage, garlic, pepper & salt in a medium bowel; mix well. (2) Loosen skin from turkey breast by inserting fingers and gently pushing between skin and meat. Rub mustard mixture under loosened skin, Distributing mixture evenly over breast. Place turkey on rack in shallow roasting pan. (3) Place turkey in oven. Reduce oven temperature to 325 f. roast (2) to (2 ½) hours or until internal temperature reaches (165f). (4) Transfer turkey to cutting board. Tent with foil; let stand for (10) minutes before slicing. Remove and discard skin before slicing. Makes (17) servings Calories 128, Total fat 2g, saturated fat (<1g) protein (25g), carbohydrate (<1g), cholesterol (74mg), dietary fiber (<1g), sodium (136meg). Add whatever veggies to your meal and enjoy.
