Glory to God to have a wonderful relationship with God the father early in the morning. To chat with Him early before your mind becomes crowded with so many other things. I really love my time I spend with the Lord during my Daily Devotional. While reading what Brenda Gittens, wrote Empowered By His Spirit, it reminds me of the Holy Spirit that visited our place of worship, oh my what a time. Brenda said! In the Old Testament the Spirit of God often came upon people so that they could perform or accomplish specific tasks. All of these moments were special, but the Spirit almost never remained upon someone indefinitely. There was one young man named Samson, who was blessed by the Lord as he grew up and the Spirit began to take hold of him. On his way to the city Timnah with his parents, a lion attacked him. The Spirit came upon him and he tore the lion’s mouth in two! At that moment the Spirit of the Lord powerfully took control of him, and he ripped the lion’s jaws apart with his bare hands. He did it as easily as if it were a young goat. But he didn’t tell his father or mother about it. (Judges 14:6). Aside from the lion incident, he also triumphed over the Philistines because God’s Spirit empowered him Judges 15:14-20) and he became the judges of Israel for twenty years. The Spirit gave Samson the strength and ability to subdue great numbers of his enemies and accomplish great victories. We must learn to see things in the “SPIRIT” but most of all read your bible and ask for an understanding of the word.

I learned from my granny how to keep the good ones and get rid of the bad ones. She always said never get rid of all the insects, because there are some good ones. You know and I know that the use of pesticides has really left its mark on the land. It has contaminated our ground water, depleted our topsoil, loss of minerals in the soil and some say it’s linked to cancer. All of this comes from extensive use of toxins. There are many things we can do to fight the pest in our garden, that won’t hurt us. Let us try these sprays and it is organic. Using plants such as garlic, parsley and tansy are normally avoided by insects. Grind the leaves of herb plants plus a small amount of liquid soap and water. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes, put it in a spray bottle then apply it to the plants. Hot pepper spray can also be affective in repelling insects. Grind the pepper in your blender, then add a little liquid soap and water, let it stand for 30 minutes, put it in a spray bottle. Make your own natural bug spray by boiling 4 large onions and 4 heads of garlic in 1 gallon of water for approximately 45 minutes. Let cool then pour in spray bottle. It is safe and has no odor. Next week we will talk about how to prepare our garden for our fall planting.
Readers please remember one another. Always say something to encourage someone. You never know what kind of day that person has had. The greatest thing of all times is to love.
