Juanita Barnes“The Word Made Flesh,” by Rev. James C. Matthews: “And the word became flesh and dwelled among us, and we beheld His glory. The glory as the only begotten of the father full of grace and glory,” John 1:14. This verse is one of the most revealing scriptures in the Bible. It not only reveals God himself having come as one of us, but a kingdom principle that God intends for us to live by. The principle simple states, every word God speaks, He intends for it to be made flesh - or manifest! If this is true, and believers desire to see God’s word manifest in their lives, why is there so little manifestation taking place? It is not that the word is impotent or insufficient, far from it! The answer lies in our lack of understanding concerning the biblical principle and process by which God has ordained manifestation to occur.

In conclusion of “Keeping Christ in Christmas,” Take a group Christmas carolers to a nursing home or a children’s hospital. (6) Give a surprise gift of service to each member of your family. Jesus taught us to serve by washing the disciple’s feet. He also taught us that it is “more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35 NIV). Giving unexpected gifts of service to members of your family is to demonstrate Christ – like love and service. You might consider giving a back rub to your spouse, running an errand for your brother, or cleaning out a closet for your mother. Make it personal and meaningful and watch the blessings multiply. Roy L. Smith wrote:

“He who has not Christmas in his heart will never find it under a tree.” Do remember the upcoming events that the Moreno Valley Black Chamber of Commerce and Foundation plan for 2010 beginning with February 20, March 13, and May 16. Remember Jesus is the reason for the season.
