I once read the question: “What do you love about December?” I love the smell of the fresh cut pine trees for Christmas. To see the Angels with lots of lights; Baby Jesus in a manger with His mom and dad watching over him and most of all, the goodwill to all people, sharing the love of cooking and smelling cookies, candy, all kinds of breads being cooked. There is a lot of compassion for one another during this time of year, carols being sung, happy faces of not only the children but the young at heart. Why not keep that Spirit all year long? Then we will know that Jesus really is the reason for the Season. That means winter, spring, summer and fall. Read y our Bibles prayerful and think.

This was sent to me in my monthly newsletter: Keeping Christ in Christmas means daily revealing the character, love, and Spirit of Christ that dwells in you, by allowing these traits to shine through your actions. Here are simple ways to keep Christ the central focus of your life this Christmas Season: (1) Give God one very special gift just from you to Him; (2) Set aside a special time to read the Christmas story in Luke 1:5–56 through 2:1–20, consider reading this account with your family and discussing it together; (3) Set a nativity scene in your home; (4) Plan a project of goodwill this Christmas, adopt a single “Mom,” assist a friend that is barely making ends meet. Buy a gift for someone that is expecting nothing from you. Help an elderly neighbor in need of some repairs or yard work, find someone with a genuine need, involve your whole family and see how happy you can make someone this Christmas. I will finish this next week. Would you just try these things and you will be busy.
GARDEN TIME: It’s time to plant: broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, lettuce, spinach, onions, mustard greens turnip greens and garlic.
Always plant some flowers with your garden and do not plant strawberries or tomatoes. Plant hyssop or nasturtiums. There is so much to write about but more next week. Remember to hug someone, it may be the only one they will get or have. Smile, show Love wherever you go.
