Helen Steiner Rice wrote: “MEET LIFE WITH A SMILE”: There are times when life overwhelms us. And our trials seem too many to bear. It is then we should stop to remember god is by ready to share the unexpected hours that confronts us. And fill us with fear and despair. For God in His goodness has promised that the Cross He gives you to wear will nev er exceed our endurance, or be more than our strength can bear. And secure in that Blessed assurance. We can smile as we face tomorrow; For God holds the key to our future And no sorrow or care need we know. Think about it.

Moreno Valley what a week. We had the passing of Senator Edward M. Kennedy, Kansas Avenue’s Col.Powell, the heat in the hundred digits and many more things that we have had to deal with whether good or bad. We are still here by God’s good grace. But when we look around our good things outnumber our bad things, so let us keep it moving (smile). Moreno Valley and the Inland Empire we have a lot to do and a short time to make it in. This past Friday, I attended the first “Summit for Youth and Young Adults of the Inland Empire,” that the youth and young adults of COPIM hosted. They were off the hook. Praise, worship, poetry, praise dancers, miming ministry, music, and workshop speakers were well versed in their speaking. Pastor Troy Campbell, Minister Corwyn Singleton, Minister Jhamil Carter, Rondalynne McClintock, M. ED. , Evangelist J’eanine Taylor, Minister Mary Ryan, Evangelist Patricia Calloway, Minister Sadalia E. Cook, Liz Fregozo, Joe Montoya, Pastor Michael Williams, and Kevin Anderson, MSW and altar call by Youth Minister Michael Hooks. It was awesome. The grand finale was Sunday at 11:00 A.M. services with the guest speaker Minister James W. Goree 111. What a dynamic anointed and a powerful man of God. The message that touch the most was what the COPIM wrote to Bishop Craig W. Johnson: To our Bishop, on behalf of the Youth& Young Adults Ministries, we want to thank you for letting us host this Summit and convey our vision of reaching a blessed generation. The faith and trust you have put into us is greatly appreciated and in all we do we strive to honor you “THANK YOU.” Saturday August 29th, 2009 I attended an outdoor service with my daughter Annette L. Barnes at her church Renewed Life Fellowship, held at Martha’s Kitchen on Helmlock in Moreno Valley. What a wonderful fellowship with a group lead by 17-yearold Rev. Jermaine Tims. This was an awesome young group of people and many more things were a blessing to us all. This is the ministry that is building “The Lords Gym” in the city. This ministry is led by an awesome man & woman of God, Pastors Ted & Valinda Collins. They also have Bible Study at Martha’s Kitchen every Monday at 7:00 p.m. Feel free to share the word and pray. For information call (951) 924–8828 or visit www.renewlifefellowship@.org. The church is located at 25550 Ironwood Ave., Moreno Valley Ca. 92553.

The Moreno Valley Black Chamber will be holding a celebration September 3, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. in the mall will be a part of it also. For information call (951) 697–7772.
